Equipment: Cocktail shaker, fine strainer and chilled 150 ml coupe

Ingredients

Use level 5 ml teaspoons and weigh ingredients where grams are given.

Method

  1. Chill the serving glass. Add vodka, cooled espresso, water and 12 drops of sweetener to a shaker.
  2. Add ice, close securely and shake hard for 15–20 seconds until the shaker is very cold.
  3. Double-strain into the coupe and wait a few seconds for the foam to settle. Garnish with three coffee beans.
  4. For a sweeter version, stir 2 extra drops into the next batch before shaking.

Sugarless Liquid Sweetener

4 drops give the sweetness of 1 teaspoon of sugar. Use the supplied dropper. Eight drops equal 2 teaspoons of sugar in sweetness; 12 drops equal 3 teaspoons.
