Choosing a sweetener for coffee starts with two simple questions: how do you like to measure it, and how sweet do you like your cup? Sugarless offers spoonable stevia and monk fruit blends, tablets, individually portioned café sticks and liquid drops. Each has its own serving guide.
For a kitchen coffee station, a canister lets you measure each cup. For work or travel, sticks or a tablet dispenser are easy to carry. If you prefer counting drops, the 125mL liquid format is another option. Use the guide below to compare the amounts, then adjust to your own taste.
How much sweetener should you put in coffee?
These amounts each provide the sweetness of one level teaspoon of regular sugar. They apply to the named Sugarless products, not every stevia, monk fruit or liquid sweetener.
| Product | Amount for 1 tsp sugar sweetness |
|---|---|
| Organic Stevia 350g | ½ teaspoon (2g) |
| Organic Monk Fruit 350g — pre-order | 1 teaspoon (4g) |
| Organic Stevia Café Sticks, 40-pack or 500-pack | 1 stick |
| Liquid Sweetener 125mL — pre-order | 4 drops |
| Organic Stevia Tablets, 200 pack | 1 tablet |
If you usually add one teaspoon of sugar, use that sweetness equivalent as a reference. Prefer a less sweet coffee? Start with less, stir and taste before adding more. These are sweetness comparisons, not equal quantities or identical ingredients. Always check the current pack directions.
Ordering note: Organic Monk Fruit 350g and Liquid Sweetener 125mL are currently on presale and are not available for immediate dispatch. Check each product page for its current timing and order arrangements before purchasing.
Stevia for coffee: canister, tablets or café sticks?
Our guide to stevia explains extracts and finished blends. Sugarless Organic Stevia 350g is a spoonable blend of organic erythritol and organic steviol glycosides. It suits a home coffee station where you have a measuring spoon handy. Its serving guide uses half a teaspoon for the sweetness of one teaspoon of sugar.
Café sticks offer an individually portioned alternative: one Sugarless Organic Stevia Café Stick provides the sweetness of one level teaspoon of sugar. Choose the 40-pack for a personal supply or the 500-pack for a shared kitchen or café counter. Check the ingredients on your chosen pack; the 500-pack lists natural flavour in addition to organic erythritol and organic steviol glycosides.
Prefer a dispenser? Sugarless Organic Stevia Tablets provide the sweetness of one level teaspoon of sugar per tablet, with 0.1 calories per tablet. Add a tablet to hot coffee, stir until dissolved and taste before adding more. Tablets are for portioning drinks; use the named canister blend when following a baking recipe.
Monk fruit sweetener for coffee
For an ingredient overview, read what monk fruit is and how blends work. Sugarless Organic Monk Fruit 350g combines organic erythritol with organic monk fruit extract. It is a blend, rather than pure monk fruit extract or an erythritol-free sweetener.
Its teaspoon-for-teaspoon sweetness guide is straightforward if you already measure sugar by the spoon. One teaspoon of this blend provides the sweetness of one level teaspoon of sugar. Stevia and monk fruit preferences vary, so compare them in the coffee you normally drink, using the appropriate amount for each.

Liquid sweetener for coffee
Sugarless Liquid Sweetener 125mL lets you measure sweetness in drops: four drops provide the sweetness of one level teaspoon of sugar. Add a little at a time and stir through your coffee.
The 125mL bottle contains 500 servings. The formula, concentration and dosage are unchanged from the discontinued 250mL version, but the new bottle contains half the volume. It is not a stevia or monk fruit blend; its ingredients are purified water, sweeteners (952, 954), preservative (211) and acidity regulator (330).
Pre-order: expected dispatch from mid-November 2026. This is an estimated dispatch timeframe, not a guaranteed delivery date. Read the 125mL liquid sweetener listing for the full presale details.
Using sweetener in hot and iced coffee
- Hot coffee: measure the sweetener, stir it through, then taste once the drink is cool enough to sip. Adjust gradually.
- Iced coffee made with espresso: stir a spoonable sweetener or café stick into the coffee before adding ice and cold milk. This gives you a chance to mix it thoroughly.
- Cold brew or an already cold drink: add a small amount, stir well and taste before adding more. Liquid drops offer a format you can measure without a spoon.
Keep the coffee, cup size and milk the same when comparing products. That makes it easier to find the amount you enjoy. Adding a sugar-free sweetener does not make the whole drink sugar free: milk, flavoured syrups and other ingredients still count.
Choosing sweetener for a café or office
Individually portioned sticks let each person choose their own sweetness without measuring from a shared canister. Keep the serving guide visible beside the drinks station, and check your usual usage before choosing a pack size.

Common coffee sweetener questions
What is the best sweetener for coffee?
The best fit depends on your taste and routine. Choose a canister if you like measuring by spoon, sticks for individual portions, or liquid if you prefer drops. Compare the finished product and its serving guide, rather than assuming all products with the same sweetener name work alike.
Can I swap stevia and monk fruit teaspoon for teaspoon?
Not for these two Sugarless canisters. The stevia blend needs ½ teaspoon for the sweetness of one teaspoon of sugar; the monk fruit blend needs one teaspoon. See our sugar-to-sweetener conversion guide for more amounts and formats.
How many liquid sweetener drops replace one teaspoon of sugar?
For Sugarless Liquid Sweetener 125mL, four drops provide that sweetness. Follow the directions for the bottle you are using; other brands and concentrations may differ.
Which coffee sweetener is zero calorie?
Sugarless Liquid Sweetener is zero calorie. The Organic Stevia canister provides 0.5 calories per 2g serve, while the Organic Monk Fruit canister provides 0.9 calories per 4g serve. These are the sweeteners’ serving values, not the nutrition of your finished coffee: milk, cream and other additions contribute their own nutrition.
What if I usually use two teaspoons of sugar?
For the equivalent sweetness, the named Sugarless products use 1 teaspoon (4g) of the Stevia canister blend, 2 teaspoons (8g) of the Monk Fruit blend, 2 Organic Stevia Café Sticks, or 8 drops of Liquid Sweetener. Use less if you prefer, then stir and taste. This comparison is for drinks; baking also depends on the recipe’s structure.
Do I need a different sweetener for a latte or flat white?
You can use the same Sugarless format you use in black coffee. Start with a small amount and adjust after adding your usual milk, rather than assuming every cup needs the same dose.
